FAQS

WHERE DO YOU TRAIN?

Training is held between 4pm and 6:00 pm on Monday afternoons at Dales Park on Warrigal Road, Oakleigh. In some instances, a team may train from 4-5pm at Beaumaris North Primary School

IS TRAINING COMPULSORY?

Yes. For your child to get the most out of their netball experience, training is vital.  At training, they will learn the basic skills, develop an understanding of the rules and develop bonds with their teammates.

WHERE ARE THE GAMES PLAYED AND WHAT TIME?

Games are played at Dales Park (Warrigal Road, Oakleigh) on Saturdays, from 8:15am through to 4:15pm depending on age & division.

WHEN DO THE NETBALL SEASONS COMMENCE?

There are 2 seasons per year. The ‘Autumn’ season starts typically on the first weekend of the school year (February, running through to June). The ‘Spring’ season typically starts on the first weekend of Term 3 (July, running through to December). There are no games scheduled over the term school holidays.

WHAT AGE CAN I START PLAYING?

Your child must be turning 8 in the year they wish to start playing. Proof of age is required, either a birth certificate or passport.

HOW DO I JOIN?

Firstly, complete our registration enquiry form. Our registrations officer will contact you to let you know whether there is availability in a team for the current season or alternatively offer your child a place for the following season.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

All Players are required to pay the Netball Victoria Membership (NVM) fee. Netball Victoria requires each player to be registered through them to cover the player for injury etc. These fees are known as NVM Fees. This is paid annually and covers the player for any Netball Victoria sanctioned competition and is additional to our club fees. This fee needs to be paid before the player can train and play with our club.  If you pay for Autumn, you won't be charged this fee again for Spring.  For more information, please visit this link:  https://vic.netball.com.au/netball-victoria-membership/

Our club fees vary each season. For enquiries, please email the club at cheltnth@gmail.com

WHAT IS THE UNIFORM?

A Cheltenham North Devils netball dress with black boy leg shorts worn underneath. Alternatively, from Spring 23 Season will be also offering a new singlet and shorts design. It is necessary to wear appropriate footwear with white Cheltenham North Netball Club socks. Specific runners designed for netball are preferred as they provide the required ankle support.

WHERE DO I GET A UNIFORM FROM?

Uniforms can be ordered on the Netball Connect app from the ‘Shop’ menu.

MY CHILD’S FRIEND IS ALREADY PLAYING IN A TEAM.  CAN THEY JOIN THAT TEAM?

All friendship requests will be considered by the Committee after playing ability has been considered.

MY CHILD HAS NEVER PLAYED NETBALL BEFORE?

We are an inclusive Club and encourage players of all abilities. Depending on the age of your child, we will endeavour to place them in a team with those of similar experience/capabilities.

HOW MANY PLAYERS PER TEAM (MAX)?

Our teams are capped at 10 players per team. Team sizes of 9 are preferable as court position rotations are easier to manage.
